CONCRETE PILE VS. TRADITIONAL FOOTING PILE
The common practice when constructing resorts and water villas is the use of traditional footing piles on concrete footing with the PVC lining, yet the ideal solution for the developers and investors is the pre-cast concrete spun pile. This is because the value for the price paid is higher for the client given the drawbacks of the traditional footing pile such as,

3. Before installing the concrete footing, the seabed needs to be excavated for about 0.5 - 1m which damages the coral bed and the eco system surrounding it.
4. Needs one or two excavators to place the columns. The accuracy of placing depends on the skill of the operators.
5. The concrete footing columns are placed and test on the sea bed. It is not very stable and can be lift or float by high waves, swells and current.
6. Often you can see the corrosion is overflowing from the top of the column after some time.
Our Solution...

At LFPS we recommend our clients the modern high -tech spun piles casted in ISO 9000 certified factories under the global pre-cast standard. The piles are in diameter from 200mm to 1000mm with standard lengths from 6m to 12m in single segment. The average lifetime of a spun pile is around 50-75 years. To withstand the Maldivian conditions we suggest out clients the 300mm diameter class B piles for jetties and water villas which can hold up to a load of 35 tonnes per pile. Yet, we are not limited to this standard but can supply and install piles as per the requirement of the client.
With regards to the installation, our piling machines which is fully equipped with modern facilities is able to place the piles to an accuracy of 50mm by using the GNNS RTK GPS where the vibrator hammer is able to install the spun piles in a efficient and economical method while minimising the effects to the surrounding marine ecology.
